This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass sun catcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio. This wonderful rippled glass is iridescent and textured, showing a deep ruby reddish blue with direct light shining through, The solder lines on this piece have been given a black patina, and are waxed for a protective, shiny surface. Some fun wirework details have been added under the mushroom cap.
Hangs from the top with a ribbon.
Measures about 3.5" wide, 8" tall and hangs from the top of the ribbon to the bottom; about 13" in total.
60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came.
Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded, causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
