This sweet pressed flower , snake shed and pressed flower copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio. The back piece of glass sandwiched with a triangle-shaped bevel is a special glow-in-the-dark glass. The flowers were gathered and pressed by the artist and sandwiched between two pieces of glass. The flowers are dried for a minimum of 6 weeks, and they are sealed very well to prevent trapped moisture and the formation of mold. There is also a deep purple briolette 40mm crystal that hangs form the bottom of the piece.

Soldered to an 8” brass chain, and each jump ring has been soldered into an enclosed ring for sturdiness. The solder lines and lead came frame on this piece have been given a black patina, and are waxed and buffed for a protective, shiny surface.

The glass piece measures about 6" long, 3” wide. Brass chains are used to drape and hang the piece.

60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came. Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded or causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
