This sweet pressed flower and dichroic jewel copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio.

The top and bottom shapes are pressed flowers encased in iridescent and beveled glass. The centermost stone is an amethyst moon. The flowers were gathered and pressed by the artist, and the snake shed is from a local Boa Constrictor, sandwiched between two pieces of glass. The flowers are dried for a minimum of 6 weeks, and they are sealed very well to prevent trapped moisture and the formation of mold. Soldered to an 8” steel chain, and each jump ring has been soldered into an enclosed ring for sturdiness. The solder lines and lead came frame on this piece have been given a black patina, and are waxed and buffed for a protective, shiny surface.

The glass piece measures about 8" long, 3” wide.

60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came. Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded or causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
