Beveled prism PDX Raindrop Stained Glass Sun Catcher

Handmade by Tamara Goldsmith, These stained glass “rain-drops” are one-of-a-kind. Each piece is uniquely designed, hand-cut, copper-foiled, and assembled in her Portland, Oregon studio.

All have diamond-shaped bevels (some blue, some clear glass) which sparkle when hung in direct sunlight. The clear bevels also create rainbows with its prism-like qualities. (Blue bevels do not refract light quite as much as the clear, and won't create rainbows) They hang from a black chain about 6" in length.

There is one raindrop made from the special and rare, mouthblown glass from the Fremont (Seattle) hotshop, which is a gorgeous multi-colored glass.

Each drop is about 5 inches long and about 3.5 inches wide.

Images show the piece with both back and front lighting, and a variety of color options. Let me know if you have a specific custom color in mind! special orders are often possible.

60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is edged in lead came.

Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded, causing lead dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.

All pieces are carefully wrapped with ample and secure padding for a safe delivery.
