Bloodshot eyeball Stained Glass Suncatcher with dichroic spiderweb bat wings

This spooky stained glass creature was handmade by me, Tamara Goldsmith in my Portland, OR studio. This piece was made with handpainted and fused stained glass, assembled using the copper-foiled Tiffany method.

A permanent glass paint was used for the blood vessels in the eyeball. This piece was made in a green eyecolor with dichroic purple/green mirror glass for the wings. Wirework has been added to the surface of the bat-wings to resemble a spiderweb.

It hangs from a black chain about 4 inches from the top and the piece itself is about 10” wide and 8" tall.

60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came for the utmost in structural integrity.

All pieces are carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during domestic shipping.

Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded or causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
