Mermaid Hair Stained Glass Panel
This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass piece was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR, studio.
This piece was made with a variety of different colors of stained glass. It features a mermaid from the neck up lounging on the sand with her hair spread out behind her. Shells and dichroic glass beads scattered in her hair are made using various techniques like copper foil overlay, wirework and decorative solder.
 
The piece measures about 12” X 12"
With the chain, it's about 19 inches from the top of the chain to the bottom of the piece.
 
60/40 lead/tin solder was used; thus, special care is suggested when cleaning/handling suncatchers containing lead. Lead is only dangerous when inhaled as lead dust or ingested in significant quantities over time. There is no health threat to owning a stained glass window containing lead.
All pieces are carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during domestic shipping.
