This beautiful copper-foiled stained glass suncatcher was handmade by Tamara Goldsmith in her Portland, OR studio.
This beautiful Dark Rose suncatcher is made with iridescent deep brick red glass, almost black when backlit, unless light is reflected off the surface of purple "oil-slick" iridescence. Made to resemble a blooming rose. The solder lines on this piece have been left silver rather than given a patina, and are waxed for a protective, shiny surface.
Hangs from the top two corners with a silver chain.
Measures about 10" wide, 9" tall and hangs from the top of the chain to the bottom; about 18" in total.
60/40 lead/tin solder was used and the border is lead came.
Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded or causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
