Spiderweb and antler Stained Glass suncatcher
Handmade by Tamara Goldsmith, this unique stained glass 3D antler-mounted spiderweb employs delicate wirework overlay on wispy white and transparent textured glass.  Part of the latest Halloween offerings, these are spooky and wonderful, and come in a variety of sizes.  All work designed, hand-cut, copper-foiled, hand-painted, and assembled with love by me in my Portland, Oregon studio. These one-of-a-kind pieces are carefully crafted using the traditional Tiffany stained glass method, and securely mounted onto a real antler . 
 
Measures about 12" tall and hangs from a  7" long silver chain. 
 
Stained Glass, a technique relatively unchanged for hundreds of years, is the ancient art of assembling cut, mineral-infused, handmade art glass together with lead/tin seams. 60/40 lead/tin solder was used. Lead is not dangerous to have in your home in an art-piece like this unless sanded, causing lead-dust to be airborne and inhaled or somehow ingested. However, it is always a good idea to wash your hands well after cleaning or handling the piece.
